Tall Poppy
One weird thing about living in New Zealand is that Excellence is not really celebrated. If you do really well the tendency is to be very quiet about it as if you 'brag', there is the very real risk that those around you will not be pleased with your success. 'Tall Poppy' syndrome is a 'thing' (and contrary to some articles, it is not limited to Australia)!

High Visibility
We have to wear 'high viz' jackets when we go out on playground duty. Needless to say, this makes an unpleasant task even worse. Apparently our students are not bright enough to figure out who the duty teacher is without said gear.
